The Danish First Aid Council
Context
In collaboration with The Danish First Aid Council, Crone & Co developed and implemented the first edition of the Nordic First Aid congress. The congress took place in spring 2018 at The Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, and gathered researchers, instructors, teachers and other professionals from the field of First Aid. The overall themes of Nordic First Aid 2018 were first aid, knowledge sharing, and didactics, with the primary goal of strengthening the attendees’ professional profile, introducing new innovative perspectives and inspire to better and more efficient teaching on first aid courses around the world.
Implementation
Knowledge sharing played an important part of Nordic First Aid 2018. By gathering professionals from a wide range of nations several, different perspectives on core areas within the field was discussed creating a versatile and multidisciplinary platform for efficient knowledge sharing and peer-based learning. Through a long range of interactive workshops, practical and theoretical, the participants were challenged while in turn expanding their knowledge.
The exhibition was instrumental at Nordic First Aid 2018, as it presented a unique opportunity for the first aid professionals to have direct interaction with the developers of the products they use on a daily basis in education across the world. The exhibition turned out to be an important part of the NFA2018 experience at the same level as the academic program. In a field driven by practical skills, it is vital to be able to meet directly and learn from each other.
Crone & Co handled the overall project management and implementation including economy and budget, PR-activity, planning, sponsor- and exhibitor activity, coordination with venues, hotels, volunteers, online event management platform, mobile app, website and development of visual identity and graphical material.
Results
Nordic First Aid 2018 was the first of its kind and was an important platform as nothing like it existed at the time. The Congress established a platform for knowledge sharing and innovative thinking and the evaluation clearly showed that it was a need within the field that finally was met.
More than 450 participants from 21 nations attended.
Nordic First Aid 2018 was a great success, and at the last day of the congress it was announced that it would return in the spring of 2019 – Once again with Crone & Co as official PCO.
